The Student Service + Leadership Project
The Student Service + Leadership Project, a collaboration between The Leadership Studio and Bowfish Kids, was a 2 week-long initiative for students to raise money for the Leadership Studio, which offers leadership education and leadership development to underserved communities.
Participants received a T-shirt and created a fundraising project aiming to raise at least $100, with tools and support provided. The event kicked off on August 12th with a pizza party and community building activity and planning session. Each participant was responsible for their own fundraising, culminating on August 25th with a final event at Atlantic City’s City Hall where participants reflected on their experience and were immersed in the community they were serving. Proceeds benefit The Leadership Studio, which offers leadership education and leadership development to underserved communities.
13 local students participated this year, and together, the students raised $4,650 by creating their own fundraising projects!
Students had the ability to come up with a fundraising idea of their choice. Highlights include...
- A student waitress sold cookies while she was waiting tables
- A shell and jewelry pop up
- Pokemon, baseball, hockey card table
- Lemon ice cream stand
- Hair braiding at a triathlon race
- Catching frogs from peoples yards and releasing them into the wild
