What Does Sustainability Mean?

Sustainability is the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level for a long period of time. As we've grown as a small business, our sustainability initiatives have only grown. All apparel brands that we carry must be able to check at least two boxes off the list below in order for us to carry them.

Made In The USA

Lower carbon footprint because of the reduced distance from manufacturer. Boosts the American economy and creates economic stability.

100% Recycled Materials

Clothing produced from pre-consumer or post-consumer waste materials like plastic bottles, apparel or nylon fishing nets. This is material that would otherwise have been sent to landfill.

100% Organic Materials

Materials raised or grown in compliance with organic agricultural standards including cotton, jute, linen, silk, ramie, or wool.

Business Uses Renewable Energy

The headquarters or manufacturing building is powered by solar power, wind power, or any other renewable source to make it run.

Certified Carbon Offset

A way to show the amount of carbon emissions that have been avoided. Each individual certificate corresponds to one tonne of emissions that have been offset in an effort to reduce greenhouse gases.

Plastic-Free

Materials in the product, packaging, and shipping materials do not contain any plastic.

Certified B Corp

A certification that a business is meeting high standards on employee benefits, charitable giving, supply chain practices, and sustainable materials.

Certified ECOCERT

Ingredients or materials are derived from renewable resources and manufactured by using environmentally friendly processes.

Overcut Percent is Under 10%

Majority of orders are made to order. If extra fabrics and materials are used, it is not more than 10% of the total order so those fabrics don't go to waste.

SUSTAINABLE BRANDS

As of March 2025, we’ve shifted our focus to quality over quantity. We thoughtfully reduced our brand lineup by 17 and welcomed 27 new sustainable brands, bringing our total to 64 out of 78 brands—that’s 82% sustainable!

Even the few brands we don’t yet consider fully sustainable are actively working toward better practices—for example, all of them ship to us plastic-free. And here’s something we’re especially proud of: 100% of our apparel brands are sustainable.

RECYCLABLE AND COMPOSTABLE MATERIALS

We've made the switch to sustainable materials in all aspects of our small business. This includes 100% recycled shipping boxes, 100% recycled paper shopping bags, 100% sustainable algae ink, compostable tissue paper, 100% recyclable cards, 100% compostable mailers, compostable washi tape, water-activated packing tape, 100% compostable shipping labels, and so much more!

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES

Within our small business, we take many steps to be conscious about our carbon footprint. In our office, we reuse scrap paper for printer paper, use reusable towels instead of paper towels, and all of our employees have reusable water bottles!

BIODEGRADABLE GLITTER

As of April 2021, after 3 years of working with vendors, doing the research, and implementing the findings, we are proud to say that we have finally made the switch to biodegradable glitter! Bio Glitter is beautifully-colored, finely-cut pieces of cellulose, which is made from a variety of sustainably grown, GMO-free plants with minimal environmental impact.
