Halloween Events in Ocean City
Spooky season is in full-swing, Bowfishies! We are super excited to list off the family-friendly Halloween events happening locally this month. From costume contests to trunk-or-treating, Ocean City, as well as some surrounding areas, have a fun event for everyone.
First up—the “Howl-O-Ween” Parade hosted by the Humane Society of Ocean City. Ever want to wear a matching costume with man’s best friend? Now is your chance! Participants of this parade are encouraged to dress up with their dogs in Halloween costumes. This event takes place on Saturday, October 22nd, from 3-4pm. Registration at the Sports and Civic Center opens at 2pm. The route runs from 6th to 14th Streets on the boardwalk…and, this event is completely free! The 74th annual Halloween Parade in Ocean City is taking place on Thursday, October 27th at 7:15pm on our own Asbury Avenue! The parade runs from 6th to 11th Streets and is sponsored by the Ocean City Exchange Club. Prizes will be given to each division, and divisions include individual children up to seven years old, parade floats, family groups, etc. The lineup will begin at 6:30pm on 6th Street and Asbury Avenue. Does your older child love to spend time at the library? Or maybe you wish they loved spending time at the library? Ocean City Public Library is holding various fall events for children and teens. On Friday, October 21st, preteens and teens in grades seven through 12 are invited to join a Halloween Craft event. Additionally, on Tuesday, October 25th, the library is holding a Halloween Fest for young adults. Can’t get enough of Halloween parades and willing to leave the island? Sea Isle City is hosting a Halloween Parade and Dance Party on Friday, October 21st at 7pm. The parade route starts at 44th Street and Landis, and runs to 38th Street and Landis. The Dance Party will be held in Excursion Park right after the parade wraps up. Gather the family and enjoy the live music, entertainers, floats and more for this fun night in Sea Isle! Click here for additional details on this event.
Ready for some Trunk-or-Treat fun? Head to Somers Point for all the candy and costumes on Saturday, October 22nd from 4-6pm. This event is being put on by the Somers Point Police Department in the Shore Medical Center parking lot. Decorate your trunk and grab a few bags of candy… this one is going to be loads of fun! The event is free and the Somers Point Police Department is accepting toy donations for their annual holiday toy drive. Click here for additional details and info on how to get involved.
Does your little one love to skate? This one is for them! The Halloween Costume Skate is happening at the Ocean City NJ Skatepark on Saturday, October 29th. The event runs from 4pm to dusk, and skateboarders are encouraged to come dressed in costume. Prizes for best costume and best skate trick will be given out, as well as candy for all participants! We saved the best for last… Our Bowfish Halloween Bash is happening Saturday, October 29th from 12-4pm (which is also during Trick-or-Treating on Asbury!). Join us for our annual costume contest, where participants can win prizes for the following categories: Cutest Couple/Group, Most Creative/Original, Best Character, Fan Favorite (most likes/reposts—your account must be public for this one!).
